Jameson Project

The Brief

To produce contemporary glassware that would give the ideal serving capacity, maximum usability and strong interesting branding opportunity for a busy bar environment. Two sizes were required a long drink for use with mixers and a short or on the rocks glass.
They needed to be acceptable for domestic consumers and all types of on-trade use.
Research showed that glasses used for fast and regular service in a bar needed to be robust and stacking was an advantage.

The Solution

There are only a limited number of ways a glass can stack efficiently, so this element of the design was restricted, it was derived from the classic conical shape, the inventive step was to incorporate the stacking ridge within the design. The subtle swirling line in the glass adds visual interest and compliments the branding. The final design was evolved over three models to achieve the right balance and shape. The glass is made in pressed production.
